How it works

Delivery Format

A 2-hour live online video class each Wednesday, 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
Expect 4 to 6 hours per week of guided applied work outside class.
Classes are intentionally limited in size to preserve discussion quality and feedback. Learning builds progressively across seven weeks and is applied to real marketing tasks and scenarios.

What You’ll Graduate With

NZQA-approved Certificate in AI in Marketing you can list on your CV and add to LinkedIn.
A structured framework for integrating AI into marketing workflows.
Documented AI-assisted processes for content, research and campaign planning.
Clear guidelines for maintaining brand standards when using AI tools.
Decision rationale you can explain confidently in-role or to stakeholders.

Who This Microcredential Is For

Designed for marketers who want to use AI practically, not just experiment with tools.
Suitable for in-house marketers, business owners, freelancers, consultants and those building digital capability.
If you are responsible for efficiency, content output or campaign execution, this course helps you apply AI with control and clarity.

Why Live, Structured Learning Matters

AI tools evolve quickly and advice online is inconsistent.
This course provides structured progression, applied exercises and live discussion so you can test tools in context and understand trade-offs.
You build capability deliberately rather than collecting disconnected prompts.

Industry-Informed Delivery

Courses are taught by tutors with digital marketing industry experience. Learning is grounded in real marketing scenarios and current commercial applications of AI.

What you'll learn

How AI Thinks + Limits

You’ll examine how AI produces outputs, what those outputs reliably represent, and where confidence can exceed accuracy. The focus is on understanding limits that matter in marketing decisions, not rehashing how the technology works.

Value Zones + Danger Zones

Not all marketing tasks benefit equally from AI involvement. You’ll develop judgement around where AI meaningfully improves speed or quality, and where it introduces risk, dilution, or false confidence.

Prompting + Direction

AI reflects the clarity of the thinking behind it. You’ll learn how to give direction that preserves intent, nuance, and standards, so AI supports decision-making rather than flattening it.

Workflow + Integration

You’ll explore how AI fits into real marketing workflows without disrupting accountability or quality control. The emphasis is on repeatable, team-safe use rather than isolated experimentation.

Quality + Accuracy Checks

You’ll build practical checks for validating AI-supported work before it ships. This focuses on protecting accuracy, claims, and trust in environments where AI output is part of the process.

Brand Voice + Standards

AI tends to produce generic language unless directed carefully. You’ll learn how to guide and edit AI output so it matches your brand’s tone and standards.

Risk + Responsibility

You’ll address practical considerations around IP, privacy, and decision-making responsibility. The goal is confident use with clear boundaries, not avoidance or blind adoption.
